Concrete Ceiling Lighting | Options & Tips
A concrete ceiling can be a beautiful architectural feature, but it requires extra attention when planning the lighting. Installing recessed spotlights afterwards is often not straightforward.
A common solution is surface-mounted lighting. Modern surface-mounted spotlights can be very compact and deliberately become part of the architecture. A track lighting system also offers plenty of flexibility, allowing spotlights, pendants and other lighting modules to be combined on a single system.
In new-build projects, certain lighting solutions can be incorporated into the concrete in advance. However, this requires careful planning before the ceiling is poured. Changing the position of lighting points afterwards can be difficult or even impossible.
Cabling and drivers also require attention. Especially when a minimalist result is desired, technical components and connection points should be carefully considered beforehand.
A concrete ceiling therefore does not mean that your lighting options are limited. It simply requires a different approach and careful planning at an early stage.
Do you have a concrete ceiling in your project? Consider the lighting early in the design process so that technology and architecture work together seamlessly.
